What to expect next on Shaka iLembe this coming Sunday?

The much-anticipated Shaka iLembe did not disappoint. The show has been trending ever since the first episode aired this past Sunday, 18 June 2023 at 20:00, on Mzansi Magic Dstv channel. Gaining mostly positive reviews and putting South African film making on a whole new level with the visual quality compared to the world’s best series such as HBO’s House of Dragon and Amazon’s The Lord of the Ring: The Ring of Power. It was backed up by big budget and lots of crew members.

Before I continue, I would like to put a disclaimer; I have not watched the next episode or any of the season besides episode 1 and the words expressed in this blog it’s merely me just guessing and my opinion based on my experience watching television and what I know about the history of Shaka. This is not meant to be a spoiler but as a warning, because the season is based on real life events in history it might be a spoiler.

Just a quick recap from what we already know from the previous episode 1's plot that aired this past Sunday. Princess Nandi of the Langeni who is set to marry prince … meets and captures the heart of prince Senzangakhona of the Zulu, however, their romance is cut short by a clash with Prince Zwide of the Ndwandwe. In their encounter while defending princess Nandi and her friend, Senzangakhona kills one of Zwide's members. Later on, after the King of the Ndwande is killed, Zwide declares himself king and declares war on the Zulus.

What can we expect on the next episode 2?

We know that Zwide has declared war on the Zulus on the last scene, an epic way to end the first episode that leaves us with great anticipation as we can’t wait to see the next episode. With that said, we can expect to see the message arriving to Senzangakhona and the king of Zulus. We can also expect that upon getting the news the king will be preparing for war and Zwide starting his journey of conquering other kingdoms. We will probably see various alliances being made as they prepare for war.

What to expect from the season?

This indeed, I believe is just the beginning of what Africa has to offer to the world in terms of storytelling. From the popular movie the Woman King, that over excelled what was expected from the box office, and now Shaka iLembe, which I predict will break waves. All we have to do now is wait and see what else it has to offer.
